Uganda’s singing duo Radio and Weasel arrived in the country on Thursday evening ahead of the “Kwibohora” concerts in Kigali and in the Northern Province, this weekend. The stars are in the country to celebrate with Rwandans as the country marks 21 years of liberation and end of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
Uganda’s singing duo Radio and Weasel arrived in the country on Thursday evening ahead of the "Kwibohora” concerts in Kigali and in the Northern Province, this weekend. The stars are in the country to celebrate with Rwandans as the country marks 21 years of liberation and end of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
This first concert will be held at Kigali Serena Hotel this evening from 6p.m to 11p.m—entrance fee is Rwf10,000 and Rwf20,000 in general and VIP seats respectively. The Northern Province performances will take place at Musanze stadium at 1p.m. Entrance fee is Rwf1000 for ordinary and Rwf3000 for VIP section.
The duo's most renowned songs include, among others, Take My Heart, Potential, Bread and Butter Wiggle Wiggle, Don't Cry and Amaaso.
Apart from Radio and Weasel, concertgoers will be entertained by local artistes Kid Gaju, Charly & Nina and Urban Boys. Maria Yohana Mukankuranga, a respected liberation icon, is expected to perform her famous liberation inspired songs, Turatashye inkotanyi z’amarere, Mureke mbabwire inzozi narose, Urugamba rurashushye and Intsinzi bana b’u Rwanda (Victory for my country), among other songs.
The two concerts are organised by Prom 1, a local events company.
