Thousands of residents of Rwamagana district turned up in the district stadium on Saturday to enjoy a dose of entertainment from the Primus GumaGuma Super Star (PGGSS5) artistes as the show enters the penultimate ‘full live’ segment.

The roadshow in the Eastern Province town, which is the last of the ‘semi-live’ phase, saw thousands of people streaming in from all corners of the district to see their favourite artistes take on each other.

As usual the pair of Mc Tino and Anita Pendo fired up the crowd with their comical display before the performances. The duo invited some members of the audience on the stage, giving them an opportunity to rap over a random beat and the results were hilarious and captivating at the same time.

It was time for real business of the day as the artistes came on stage, one by one, doing their best to not only sing, but also sway the audience with impressive dance moves.

Jules Sentore was the first on stage of the ten contestants, firing up the already anxious crowd with a performance of Ngera and Udatsikira among others before he was followed by Rafiki ‘Choga Style’ who sang Bagambe and Gikomando, putting the crowd in the mood.

Next on stage was Active, which, if Sentore and Rafiki, hadn’t put the audience in the full mood, did with a lot of ease. The boys sang Pole, Lift and Udukoryotwinshi which they complemented with heart-warming dance moves.

Homeboy Bruce Melodie followed, performing his songs Ntundinze and Ndakwanga among others before he was followed by Knowless Butera who performed Sweet Mutima and Baramushaka among others. Knowless proved to have more fans in Rwamagana, only rivalled by Bruce Melodie.

Next up was the TNP duo which performed Kamucerenge, Ku bwinshi and Byina while the Dream Boys, the other duo boy group, followed with exhilarating performances of Uzahaheuronke, Urareaharyana andTujyaneiwacu.

Man of stunts Senderi hit the stage dressed like traditional Rwandan kings and delivered a performance of Twaribohoye, Zarabonetse and APR. Bulldog came on next, performing Icyuki, Cinema and Nk’umusaza.

To wind up the show was Paccy who commended residents of Rwamagana for supporting her throughout and performed her songs Rendezvous, Icyabuze and Umusirimu.

EliseUwizeye, a music fan, said that she was generally impressed by the performances and dress code of the artistes.

"All the performances were great. Each one of the artistes gave it their best and we appreciate,” said Uwizeye.

According to Joseph Bubu Mushyoma , the CEO of East African Promoters, the next phase will be more interesting as the remaining performances will all be live.

"We are done with semi-live, the next shows we are going onto the full-live phase,” he said, adding that the artistes will have to rehearse hard for the next road-show which is in Ngoma.
