Tigo appoints new deputy CEO

Tigo Rwanda has appointed Chantal Umutoni Kagame (right) as the new deputy chief executive officer. She took up the role on June 19.

Tigo Rwanda has appointed Chantal Umutoni Kagame as the new deputy chief executive officer. She took up the role on June 19.

Kagame, a telecom professional, has 17 years experience in the sector. She joined Tigo Rwanda in 2009 and has been the head of sales distribution department, and was also handling the corporate affairs function. She is a Bachelor of Commerce (finance major) graduate from the former Kigali Institute of Science and Technology now University of Rwanda, College of Science and Technology.

Commenting on the appointment, Tongai Maramba, the Tigo Rwanda chief executive officer, said; "I am excited to work closely with someone as brilliant as Kagame for this important role in Tigo Rwanda. I am confident she will be an excellent leader of the great teams at Tigo.”
