Kenyan giants Sofapaka are edging closer to signing Rayon Sports captain Fuadi Ndayisenga on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee.
Ndayisenga’s contract with the Blues ran out last month and the midfielder has revealed it is time to move on to the next club having featured for Rayon Sports for four seasons since joining from SC Kiyovu in 2011.
"I have held positive talks with the Sofapaka officials and what is left now is to travel to Kenya and agree personal terms so that I sign as soon as possible,” explained Ndayisenga in an interview.
Sofapaka is keen on completing the deal as soon as possible since the Kenyan Premier League resumes on June 26 as the second round kicks off and the ‘Children of God’ as the club side is commonly known host Western Stima in Machakos.
However, Ndayisenga admits that he is yet to talk to Rayon Sports officials about his possible transfer.
The Blues are into the quarter-finals of the Peace Cup and will face relegated Etincelles tomorrow. The Peace Cup will be played on July 4.
The 25-year old Burundian midfielder signed for APR in 2007 from Burundian side Vital’O and managed to win the league title in his first season.
He left the army side a season later for SC Kiyovu in 2009 before joining Rayon Sports in 2011, leading the Blues to the league title in 2013 as captain.
Ndayisenga will be the fourth player to leave Rayon Sports for a Kenyan side after former Rayon Sports’ teammates Meddie Kagere, Abouba Sibomana and Karim Nizigiyimana signed for Kenyan champions Gor Mahia in January.
