PICTORIAL: The New Times launches reading drive

Yesterday, East African Granite Industries (EAGI) and The New Times Publications signed a deal that will see Lycée de Kigali receive free copies of The New Times everyday for one year. The occasion was also the official launch of Newspapers in Education, a campaign run by The New Times Publications in partnership with other organisations with the aim of promoting the use of a newspaper as a teaching aid. It is also intended to promote a reading culture in schools.

Yesterday, East African Granite Industries (EAGI) and The New Times Publications signed a deal that will see Lycée de Kigali receive free copies of The New Times everyday for one year.

The occasion was also the official launch of Newspapers in Education, a campaign run by The New Times Publications in partnership with other organisations with the aim of promoting the use of a newspaper as a teaching aid. It is also intended to promote a reading culture in schools.

EAGI General Manager Andrew Kulayige tells the students that they will always get 5 free copies of The New Times in a period of a year in order to improve the culture of reading among students.
Lycee de Kigali's Headmaster encourages his students to use this opportunity given by EAGI and The New Times to improve the culture of reading. 
Lycée de Kigali is also commemorating Genocide against the Tutsi as other Rwandans.
