Rwanda’s international volleyball referee Innocent Nshimiyimana has been appointed to officiate at the World Championships which will be held in Turkey from June 17-22.
Nshimiyimana, who will oversee the matches between Turkey and Montenegro as well as Puerto Rico and Tunisia; is also on the list of officials who will be charge of the U21 Men’s World Championships in Mexico from September 11-20.
Currently, Nshimiyimana is in Kenya to officiate the Africa Women national championships which is taking place in Nairobi. The tournament has teams like Algeria, Botswana, Mauritius, Cameroon, Senegal and hosts Kenya.
"I am happy to be named as world league official, this is another good step in my career as an international referee and I hope to do a good job in Turkey,” the 50-year-old told this paper.
In 2013, he officiated in the U23 Women World Championships in Mexico Tijuana and World League in Germany.
