President Paul Kagame yesterday received at Village Urugwiro a delegation from United Arab Emirates led by Foreign Affairs minister Sheikh Abdulla bin Zayed al Nahyan.
The delegation also included the UAE Minister of State Reem Al Hashimi.
Rwanda’s foreign minister Louise Mushikiwabo said the visit was aimed at advancing mutual interest and stepping up cooperation between both nations, according to a statement from the President’s communications office.
The areas of cooperation discussed during the meeting with President Kagame include infrastructure, education and tourism, it added.
The visiting delegation passed on greetings from the United Arab Emirates leadership and welcomed the opening of Rwanda’s Embassy in Abu Dhabi, the statement said.
Sheikh Abdulla bin Zayed al Nahyan also expressed great respect for President Kagame for the country’s development adding that the UAE looks forward to further cooperation.
The UAE delegation had earlier visited Kenya and Uganda.
