Senior Japanese instructors to train Rwandan karatekas

Three prominent Japanese Karate instructors will conduct a three-day training session with Rwandans from June 12-14 in Kigali.

Three prominent Japanese Karate instructors will conduct a three-day training session with Rwandans from June 12-14 in Kigali.

The trio is led by the Japan Karate Association (JKA) Executive Director, Mori Toshihiro (eighth Dan) and according to the Rwanda Karate Federation (FERWAKA), they will definitely give valuable technical tips for improvement of the martial art sport in the country.

Toshihiro will be accompanied by the Japan Karate Association in Tokyo, Kamino Masaru (7th Dan) and the Japan Karate Association representative in Luxembourg and Belgium, Kasijiima Keiichi (7th Dan).

FERWAKA technical director Guy Didier Rurangayire confirmed that they will conduct the first-ever JKA technical seminar in Rwanda and said, "These are very senior Karate instructors and we expect to gain a lot from their expertise. They will definitely improve our skills in all areas of Karate.”

"We shall at all times be indebted to the Ministry of Sports and Culture, the Japanese Government. This seminar is open to all Rwandan Karatekas who will benefit from it.”

Currently a JKA instructor, Toshihiro is a Japanese master of the Shotokan style of karate, who has previously won the JKA's version of the world championships for kumite (fighting) as well as the JKA All-Japan championships for kumite on two occasions, among his other accomplishments.
