APR Volleyball Club got back in league title race after winning their two matches against KVC and Institute of Agriculture, Technology and Education of Kibungo (INATEK) on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

Defending champions APR beat KVC 3-0 on Saturday at Club Rafiki in Nyamirambo before humiliating the INATEK 3-0 on Sunday in Ngoma to accumulate 30 points, one point ahead of Rayon Sports, who still have three games in hand.

APR head coach, Sammy Mutemi Mulinge admitted that, "The battle for the title is still open because we have many games to go plus the payoffs, so if we win all our games and Rayon Sports lose, we have a chance of defending our title. I am not going to give up on the title.”

Fidele Nyirimana’s side Rayon Sports who had their match against INATEK called off due to rain on Saturday, still have to play Lycee de Nyanza and Kigali Volleyball Club.

APR lead the table with 30 points from 13 matches, Rayon Sports is in second position with 29 points in 10 games while INATEK are third on 29 points from  12 games.

New league entrants, Kirehe VC occupy the fourth and last playoffs position with 21 points, five ahead of KVC. Blue Tigers are still on bottom with four points but with one game in hand against Rusumo High School.

In women category, title holders, Rwanda Revenue Authority beat APR and Ruhango 3-0 Saturday and Sunday respectively to hold on to top spot with 42 points, four points ahead of second-placed APR.
