THE BATTLE for this year’s national volleyball league title is between Rayon Sports and the Institute of Agriculture, Technology and Education (INATEK).
INATEK host Fidèle Nyirimana’s Rayon Sports this afternoon in Ngoma District and should visitors win the match they will go three points clear at the top of the table with one game in hand – against Lycée de Nyanza.
Rayon Sports and INATEK are currently tied on top of the table with 29 points.
Rayon Sports will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run this season while Dominic Ntawangundi Sesonga’s INATEK, who have lost once this season, are seeking their first title since their creation in 2009.
This is the second season for the ‘Blues’ in the country’s volleyball league. The defending champions, APR, who take on fourth-placed KVC at Amahoro indoor stadium, are in third position with 24 points.
"Our aim is to win all our games to stay on top, we know it is going to be hard because every team has improved this year but we are ready for the game on Saturday,” Nyirimana said.
His opposite number, Sesonga, said, "We need to win this game and continue to fight for the title. We are going to face the table leaders, but we will give our best.”
