Refer to the article, "Minagri to sell off idle machinery after reproach” (The New Times, May 19).

This is a total waste of taxpayers’ money! Why would Minagri (Ministry of Agriculture) not purchase a few machines for demonstration purpose before going for a full-fledged wholesale purchase of all these equipment that they didn't need?

What feasibility study had the ministry done before taking a decision to procure these small machines and their trailers? Did they think about the terrain, durability and maintenance?

I am sure if you went to Minagri you will find reports about feasibility studies that probably have not been done. Otherwise, I can't imagine spending our hard earned money like that! Shout out to the Auditor General’s Office.
