The Rwanda Freight Forwarders Association has donated Rwf1.5 million to Genocide survivors in Ntarama sector, Bugesera District Eastern Province to support the group’s income generating activities.

Speaking at the hand over ceremony, Fred Seka, the Rwanda Freight Forwarders Association chairman, said the forwarders will also sponsor 10 young survivors for a six-month TVET course.

"When we show love and care to survivors, it kills the spirit of the perpetrators or any other person who may want to promote such acts,” he said.

Justin Mukayiranga, the Ntarama sector in charge of social affairs, said the support will help transform the lives of the beneficiaries.

"Most of the youth that will benefit from the donation were children in 1994, and if it wasn’t for the support of people like you (forwarders), perhaps they would not have made it this far,” she said.

David Kuradusenge, one of the beneficiaries, said they will use the money to expand the group’s agribusiness project.
