Johanne St. Louis, the Executive Director of Doda, told The New Times, that they intend to transform the House into a technical school. "We hope to turn this into a school that teaches fashion and design,” said the designer who has been flying into Rwanda since 2008 to teach fashion.
Doda International is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing training, equipment and financial support to promising designers without means.
"At a later stage, we plan to open other branches maybe in South America and Asia, but the head office will remain in Kigali,” said Johanne.
The Managing Director, Colombe Ituze Ndutiye, told the guests at the event that they will open a showroom -1000n1 Signatures, on June 1. "We will be specializing in original fashion brands, strictly African wear. This will be a great opportunity for designers from all over Africa to showcase their designs,” she said.
