Kodo, who is a member of the group, urges fellow artistes to always focus on the message they want to put across.
"People like songs because they relate to the message. The melody is important, of course, but the message too matters a lot,” Kodo said.
The rapper also urges fellow soldiers not to be held back by the mindset that singing is inappropriate in the service (Army). "People think that it’s inapt for soldiers to do music—I would say that it’s a wrong mentality. We can do music as long as we’re doing it for the good cause and at the same time respecting our field,” he adds.
Kodo completed secondary at G.S de Nshenyi in the Eastern Province, before joining the army in 2010. He started singing last year, "I had to do Hip -hop because we talk about real issues in society,” he says.
His colleague, Sobo Justice completed senior six at Groupe Scolaire Officielle de Butare (GSOB), and joined Rwanda Defence Forces in 2008.
