Sri Mulyani Indrawat, the Managing Director of the World Bank Group, will arrive in Rwanda, tomorrow, for a three-day working visit, a statement from the Bank’s country office has said.
Sri Mulyani Indrawat, the Managing Director of the World Bank Group, will arrive in Rwanda, tomorrow, for a three-day working visit, a statement from the Bank’s country office has said.
During her stay, Indrawat, who doubles as the Chief Operating Officer of the World Bank Group, is expected to meet senior government officials and tour some of the projects that are funded by the Bank.
The visit, according to the statement, aims at deepening partnership between the WB and the Government of Rwanda in fighting poverty.
"Later, the Managing Director will meet with representatives of the private sector and young entrepreneurs to learn about opportunities and challenges facing private sector development in Rwanda,” it added.
The World Bank Group portfolio in Rwanda currently comprises of 13 national and six regional active projects with net commitments of $751 million.
Indrawati joined the World Bank in June 2010.
She has previously served as Indonesia’s minister for finance and the coordinating minister of economic affairs.
