Amavubi Star Hamad Ndikumana’s Cyprus league side AC Omonio failed to reach the group stages of the Uefa Cup after the Nicosia side lost 1-2 to England’s new found Moneybags Manchester City.

Second-half goals from Brazilian Elano and Shaun Wright-Phillips sank Omonia Nicosia and made sure of Manchester City’s progress into the group stages of the Uefa Cup.

Ndikumana, who was assigned to stop the raging Robinho on the right flank shot twice off target and was at fault for the first goal as he gave the Brazilian acres of space to pass to fellow Samba Elano to slot home the Eastlanders first goal.

Ndikumana who had a night to forget showed signs of relief when Robinho substituted for former Atletico Madrid star Martin Petrov in the last twenty five minutes of the game.

Rwanda’s other talent Mohammed Tchitee was left out of the racing Santander squad which traveled to Finland for the second leg against Honka FC.
