Dear editor,
The teacher’s saving scheme Umwalimu SACCO, is something that all teachers in Rwanda should not overlook. Developing the habit of saving ones’ finances is necessary for development.

What the Umwalimu SACCO teacher’s cooperative is doing to help teachers is very important because every teacher has a lot to benefit.

The determination and effort they are using to ensure that all areas in the country are covered by this saving scheme, should not be taken lightly.

More support should be put by well-wishers and those who are able to further the good cause that this cooperative has.

We should also not forget that teachers play a vital role in the educating and upbringing of all children who are tomorrow’s leaders.

The skills in good leadership are mostly imparted to future generations, when they are at school. This is the job of the teachers.

Teachers who are secure financially are better able to carry out this task.

With more registration of teachers in the Umwalimu saving scheme, there is a lot to be achieved not only by the teachers but also by the children, the government and the nation as a whole.

In this way, Rwandan teachers will be empowered so that they can uplift their socio-economic welfare, hence contributing to the socio-economic development of the communities in which they live.
