Rayon Sports volleyball Club has signed Ugandan left attacker Nicholas Dehyongera on a two year-deal contract, according to club coach Fidele Nyirimana.

Dehyongera, who was recruited from Uganda’s Sky Volleyball Club will start playing for the Blues when second half of the Volleyball league starts on May 16.

Nyirimana said the club moved for the Ugandan in order to tap in on his prowess in reception which would allow Nelson Murangwa to concentrate on the attacks.

"We hope we will have a strong team in this second leg because we were missing receptions but now we are safe and we believe Nicholas will help us,” the Rayon Sports Coach said.

Rayon Sports currently lead the league table with 20 points, three points ahead of Institute of Agriculture and Technology of Kibungo (INATEK) while defending champions APR are third with 15 points.

The 28-year-old Dehyongera was part of the Ugandan national volleyball team at the just concluded All Africa Games qualifiers held in Rwanda.

Uganda finished in fourth position after losing to Rwanda 3-2, Kenya 3-0 and Burundi 3-1.

The high flying and hard hitting attacker has previously had two years semi-professional sting in Burundi with Muzinga Volleyball Club.

He helped them win the Burundian domestic league and KAVC Memorial tournament now called NSSF International in 2010.
