Dear editor,
The fact that the European Union (EU), has shown interest in establishing an anti-piracy security operation off the coast of Somalia raises a lot of skepticism.

In fact, the French Defence Minister Herve Morin happily announced that at least eight countries have agreed to take part.

These are the people who never cared for the Somalis suffering until it affected their business route in the waters.

They have come to save their own interests, a thing that makes me feel sad. Somalia is a country that has been suffering for ages with no one from the international community caring.

That is why terrorism is rife. These people live in a state of hopelessness and cannot be blamed for the actions they take. EU should instead try to help the country stabilize.
