Having a baby is generally thought of as a blissful time. However, some new mothers do not necessarily feel this "bliss” straight away.
Postnatal depression, or baby blues as it is also called, usually starts just days after giving birth.
Although having baby blues may be distressing – and even embarrassing should the phase pass - it’s important to know that it doesn’t last long – and is generally quite manageable. This week, a few ladies share their distressing moments after child birth and the events that led to overcoming them. Medical experts also caution on the causes of this situation and how women can best handle it.
