Rwandans will have a wide range of products to choose from when the Egyptian and Middle East trade fair opens in Kigali, on Wednesday.

A spot visit by The New Times, yesterday, found traders putting final touches on the stalls set up at the Amahoro National Stadium in Remera.

More than sixty exhibitors from numerous countries will put their products on display.

Countries known for high quality fabric and leather products are participating; they include, Egypt, Singapore, Pakistan, Malaysia, India, Iran and the United Arab Emirates.

This is the 3rd edition of the trade fair.

The goods include, shoes, jewelry, furniture, electrical appliances, cosmetics, kitchenware and carpets.

The expo also presents a networking opportunity for traders.

According to Natacha Haguma, the expo coordinator, the trade show brings along multiple benefits.

"This expo presents to local entrepreneurs a chance to create links with visiting exhibitors and manufacturers. It also provides part-time jobs to over 100 youths and brings quality products closer to Rwanda,” Haguma said.

Some of the exhibitors promised discounts of up to 50 per cent on selected goods.

The exhibition is scheduled to end May 10.
