Six-time champions AS Kigali yesterday thumped struggling Bugesera FC 11-0 at Ferwafa turf to take their winning streak to 13 games this season.

Grace Nyinawumuntu’s AS Kigali, who are unbeaten since 2013, got their goals through Marie Jeanne Nyirahafashimana and Edith Umulisa, who scored hat-tricks, Anne Marie Ibangarye, who grabbed a brace, Libertha Nibagwire and Marie Claire Uwamahoro who got a goal each. The visitors scored an own goal towards the end of the match. Despite the absence of key players, such as team Captain Shadia Uwamahirwe, the City of Kigali-sponsored side are the team to beat in the ongoing league’s title.

They have 39 points, 10 ahead of second-placed Les Lionnes.

Elsewhere, third-placed Kamonyi hammered 6-1 Golden generation, while Huye-based Les Lionnes got 3 free points after Muhanga-based Academic girls FC failed to turn up for the match at Mutunda playgrounds.
