Rayon Sports have suspended attacking midfielder Jerome Sina indefinitely after the player went missing for weeks without permission.
The Congolese midfielder last played for the club in the 3-0 defeat to Zamalek in the Orange Africa Confederation Cup first leg last month. He was not involved in the club’s training sessions after that and also missed Rayon Sports’4-0 win over Etincelles early this month and the 1-0 win over AS Kigali
The Club Administration wrote to Sina asking him to explain his disappearance and according to Emmanuel Aimee Niyonsabye, Rayon Sports’ Secretary General and Club Spokesperson, Sina did not give any convincing reason.
"We have suspended him indefinitely. His reasons for disappearing are not convincing at all. The Club hierarchy will meet soon to determine whether more action should be taken,” a tough talking Niyonsabye said adding that Sina will not be paid this month’s salary.
Sina joined the Blues this season from Police but has struggled to impress and has scored just two goals.
Rayon Sports are currently 4th in the national football league with 33 points. The Blues have had a disappointing season and are likely to finish the season trophy less if they don’t win the Peace Cup.
