Editor,

This letter is with reference to the many touching stories about the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi which this newspaper has published during this Genocide commemoration period.

Please allow me to share with your esteemed readers that these stories have recently compelled a UK charity to plan a visit to Kigali from June 14, 2015, for about one week, to try and heal some hearts free of charge.

Dr Sanjiv Nichani is the Founder of a UK-based charity "Healing Little Hearts”. Over the last seven to eight years, this charity has been coming very regularly to India. Over 550 open heart surgeries on little children, who come from economically backward families in the country, have been performed so far, at no cost whatsoever.

And now Dr Nichani has very kindly offered to extend this charity work to help the people of Rwanda.

With the kind support that Healing Little Hearts is receiving from the Rwanda High Commission in the United Kingdom, the Rwanda Heart Foundation in Kigali and, of course, which they will receive from the very pro-active Ministry of Health and the Government of Rwanda, in general, we shall be able to see many little hearts and their families smiling in this beautiful land of a thousand hills!

We thank Dr Nichani and his team from Healing Little Hearts for extending their noble services to Rwanda and wish them every success.
