I’m in a relationship with my classmate and i think about her all the time. In fact it seems to be affecting my performance but i’m not willing to end the relationship. How can i maintain the relationship and excel in my studies at the same time?

There’s no universal formula to a successful relationship. However, at your age I would not encourage you to be in an intimate relationship. I doubt if you have the ability to balance the two because it involves self control and focus.

You must remember that at your age, the priority is academics and not relationships. Therefore if your girlfriend is consuming too much of time and interfering with your study time, then you need to sit with her and set ground rules that must be respected by both of you. For instance you need to make a timetable, reduce the time you spend with her and concentrate more on books. Since your girlfriend also wants to excel in her studies, she will definitely cooperate and respect that time table.

Keep a normal relationship and abstain from sex till marriage.
