"When we sponsor an event such as this one, it is not about us, it is about the artists that are attending. One of the best ways to support the economy is to invest in the creative industry,” Mouyelo said, in an October 24 press statement.

The company also sponsored popular Cameroonian artists Maahlox Le Vibeur, Koppo, and Mani Bella - famed for the hit song ‘Les Gros Ways’ - who attended the Trace Festival following a partnership with betPawa. They got a global platform to present their hit song which sensitises punters on responsible betting.

"It is 50-50, you need to come to us with ideas that make sense to us and to you,” Mouyelo told artists during his presentation on Friday, October 20, at a Trace panel.

The prestigious music and creative industry event which also marked Trace’s 20th anniversary, took place at BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda.

The festival gave the trio a global platform to showcase their talent and tap into the creative industry’s key networks. It featured a three-hour live televised music ceremony, a two-day cultural festival designed to empower music creators and fans, an awards tour, and screenings in Africa, Europe, the USA, the UK, Brazil, the Indian Ocean, and the Caribbean.

Mouyelo said the company was focused on going beyond betting by seeking partnerships that help build businesses and the community.
