Rwanda national volleyball team will play three warm-up games against their Cameroon counterparts in preparation for the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) Zone V tournament scheduled for May 1-6 in Kigali.
The team will depart for Cameroon on Wednesday and the game will be played on Thursday, Friday and Saturday in Douala, and the team will return home on Monday. Initially, the games were supposed to be played from April 21-26.
"We want the team to have the best possible preparations for the Zone V tournament, and we believe the three games against a very good Cameroon team are enough to help the team to be in good position,” said the Rwanda Volleyball Federation secretary general, Christian Hatumimana.
In the Zone V tournament, Rwanda will play against Burundi, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, and the winner will qualify for the 2015 All Africa Games to be held in Congo Brazzaville from September 4-19.
The men’s beach volleyball team of Olivier Ntagengwa and Flavien Ndamukunda has already booked their ticket to the All Africa Games after defeating their Burundian opponents 2-0 in the final played in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on Saturday.
