First Lady visits Ethiopian enterprises

On Day Two of President Paul Kagame and First Lady’s state visit to Ethiopia, First Ladies Mrs Roman Tesfaye and Mrs Jeannette Kagame visited the SoleRebels shoe factory in Addis Ababa.

First Lady Jeannette Kagame visited the SoleRebels shoe factory in Addis Ababa yesterday.

On Day Two of President Paul Kagame and First Lady’s state visit to Ethiopia, First Ladies Mrs Roman Tesfaye and Mrs Jeannette Kagame visited the SoleRebels shoe factory in Addis Ababa.

Ethiopian woman Bethlehem Tilahun Alemu built the ecofriendly, innovative global brand that sees shoes made out of Ethiopian materials such as leather and cotton. Alemu empowers 120 community members with jobs.

The First Ladies also visited Muya pottery and weaving centre that produces quality handmade clothing and traditional baskets. Other projects visited include the National Museum of Ethiopia and a school for deaf children supported by Mrs Roman Tesfaye.
