The Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, in partnership with the World Bank and Human Resources and Institutional Capacity Development Agency (Hida), organized an interactive workshop on results base monitoring and evaluation Thursday.

According to Charles Karake, Hida Director, the aim of the workshop is to improve understanding of practical concepts and approaches for managing results and strengthen skills for developing and implementing an effective project results based monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system.

He said it will also highlight the results monitoring framework of Public Sector Capacity Building Project (PSCBP) and ensure both Hida and the client institutions understand and work towards achieving the set results.

PSCBP is a five-year World Bank initiated project to strengthen the capacity of public sector institutions in delivering efficient and effective services to Rwanda.

"This work shop will increase awareness and enhance skills of participants in result based M&E and reinforce partnership between Hida and PSCBP client institutions,” Karake said.

The training will also prioritize project activities to achieve measurable outcomes and provide a basis for PSCBP monitoring and reporting on the indicators.

Karake said they expect increased awareness and practical use of the results based management approach by participants in their daily work after the workshop.
