Rwanda's Beach volleyball kings Flavien Ndamukunda and Olivier Ntagengwa are plotting for more honors at the Zone five Beach Volleyball tournament slated for April 17-19 in Dar es Salaam-Tanzania.

Rwanda is in group one with hosts Tanzania, Uganda and Sudan while Group 2 has Burundi, Egypt, Kenya and Ethiopia. Ndamukunda believes that the duo’s intensive training makes them favourities in the competition.

"We have been training a lot for the last few weeks and this has given us confidence of winning the competition, however we won’t take anything for granted,” the 28-year-old APR star said.Rwanda plays Uganda in their first match before taking on Sudan and will wind up their group matches against hosts Tanzania.

The top two in each group will qualify for the semi-finals while the winners and runners-up after the whole tournament will qualify for the All African Games in Congo Brazzaville in September.

Meanwhile, Russia-based Ivan Nsabimana Mahoro on Wednesday joined the National Volleyball team training camp ahead of the Zone V tournament that will be held in Rwanda from May 1-6.

According coach Paul Bitok, the 20-year-old will be undergoing special training and the technical department will assess him before naming the final team for a friendly match against Cameroon on Monday in Yaoundé.
