There are some restaurants around and inside the university but their prices are not exactly friendly to every campus lady walking with a fancy handbag. They look classy and they will not ruin their reputation for anything or anyone – like being spotted at a shady –and cheaper- restaurant. They would rather starve. Of late, they have managed to come up with strategies to get into these eating joints unnoticed.

The mysterious phone call

She walks like she is going for a business meeting that is very urgent then all of a sudden slows down and checks her bag like her phone is ringing. Then she puts it to her ear and pretends she can’t hear because of the noise of the cars passing by. She then seeks refuge in the nearest building. The moment she enters, the call is done and she takes her seat, ready to take on a well-mounted plate.

Lunch at 3pm

Lunchtime approaches and she is too busy to eat apparently. She pretends to have too much work to finish but she is on her laptop, watching soap operas like Camila and Alexandro, until everyone is done with their lunch. When she notices that the course is clear, she runs for lunch alone, well aware that no one will see her.

The sick friend

Should she be spotted, she will give you a story of her sick roommate who needs food from that specific restaurant. Follow her and you will be surprised at how quick she clears the dish herself.

The disguise

Should she find other students at the restaurant, she will call the waiter and shout out an order for chips and chicken. But as soon as they leave, she will call the waiter back in a hurry and ask for the usual posho, rice and beans.

The veil

Don’t be fooled, these girls are not Muslims. Veils and long weaves are the only disguise when walking into these dingy joints. This way, it’s very difficult to detect her. Because it is so hot outside, you expect girls to be wearing sleeveless tops and shorts so the moment you spot one in a veil, you instantly know what the agenda is.
