Espoir Basketball Club coach Jean Bahufite has challenged his team to win a treble of league, playoffs and the Gisembi memorial tourney this season.
The national basketball league, like the rest of local sports events, are set to resume this weekend after a week of commemorating the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
Bahufite is keen to see his players replicate the performances of 2012 season when they won four trophies in one season.
"We have a good blend of youth and experience in the squad. I believe in my team’s ability to pull this off but they will need to put their feet on the ground and work hard to achieve such a feat,” the veteran coach said.
Espoir will host Rusizi on Saturday at Amahoro Indoor Stadium before traveling to Huye to play IPRC-South on Sunday.
Espoir has won the league title in each of the last three years.
Patriots, Espoir and United Generation Basketball (UGB) all have 17 points each. However, Espoir have played one game less.
