The rugby fraternity will join the rest of the country in the 21st commemoration of the Genocide against the Tutsi by holding a rugby memorial 7s on June 13.
The one-day competition will take place at the Utexrwa grounds. The tournament, which was held for the first time last year, will see all 8 league teams participating in the event plus six Rugby tag teams. The event will also have two other categories – women and U-14.
The event will be in a round robin format and trophies will be awarded to winners of the different categories.
Djuma Adams Mugabo, the Chief Executive Officer of the Rwanda Rugby Federation, said the one day competition is meant to honor people especially sports personalities who were killed during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
