NORTHERN PROVINCE

MUSANZE — The visiting members of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) who are on a countrywide tour in Rwanda made visits to Musanze and also met with the district authorities.

The legislators who made an impromptu visit to the district had completed a one-day tour of Rubavu district, where they inspected the country’s methane gas projects and COOPEC tea factory.

In Musanze, the group led by EALA Speaker, Abdi Haither Abdirahin, promised to return and visit the Gorilla nest Hotel in Kinigi.

According to the Speaker, their tours are meant to interact with members who are part of the East African Community (EAC) constituency.

"We are meeting Rwandans who are part of our constituency while at the same time learning what the country can offer to others in terms of developments,’’ the Speaker told district authorities.

The district Mayor, Celestin Karabayinga, who welcomed the legislators, pointed out that Musanze with its tourism potential has a lot to offer in terms of hotels and art crafts.
