Editor,

The City of Kigali, and especially the Ministry of Health, should kindly set sustainable standard operating procedures and employ permanent hygiene specialists from, say University of Rwanda’s College of Health, to regularly inspect hospitals, hotels, bars, butcheries, markets… These specialists should be stationed at the grassroots if we want to avoid further lethal incidents such as the recent one where people suffered from food poisoning.

In fact, I think that something with the name "National Inspectorate of Hygiene” should be set up at national level with public prosecution powers.
