Al Ahly 2-0 APR (*Aggregate 4-0) APR are out of the Caf Champions League after losing 2-0 to eight-time CAF champions winners Al Ahly in the return leg at the Petro Sport stadium in Cairo, Egypt.

Moemen Zakareya opened the scoring at the half hour mark after rising high above the APR defense to head a good cross from Hussein El Sayed on the right flank, past goalkeeper Olivier Kwizera who could not do much to deny the Egyptian’s effort.

The swift attacking midfielder who has been brilliant over the two legs got another chance in the second half punishing the APR defense yet again for sloppy defending.

Kwizera managed to punch away Saad Samir’s header from a resulting freekick on the right but the alert Zakareya picked the rebound and sent a low shot into the bottom right to give the home side a 2-0 lead and eventually securing the much expected win to send the Egyptian giants into the last 16.

APR failed to score in both legs losing 4-0 on aggregate to continue an unyielding poor run of results on the continent despite head coach Dusan Suljagic’s earlier hopes to overturn this adversity.

Al Ahly will now meet Morocco's Maghreb Tetouani who beat Nigeria's Kano Pillars 5-2 on aggregate with the first leg expected to be played on the weekend of April 17-19.
