Over 200 residents of Gisagara District welcomed the Mobile Police Station Vehicle as it continued its mission to deliver Rwanda National Police (RNP) services to residents throughout the country.
Police has extended this service to almost all provinces so far, with thousands of residents presenting their complaints to officers.
The services extended to citizens living or working in places far away from Police stations have so far reached to residents in Kirehe, Kamonyi, Rwamagana, among others.
This week, the Mobile Police Station Vehicle packed in Nyanza Sector and received complaints from over 200 residents.
Most of the complaints presented centered on land wrangles, gender-based violence, assault, family neglect and asset disputes.
Police listened to all the complaints and sorted them out according to relevant institutions charged with solving them.
During the event, residents were sensitised about Police initiatives aimed at fostering law and order and were urged to cooperate with Police through community policing.
Chief Superintendent Hurbert Gashagaza, Police Spokesperson for Southern Province, told residents that by partnering with Police, they will help consolidate peace and security in the country.
"Criminals must know that they have nowhere to hide in Rwanda. Let us always work closely to promote love and patriotism, he said.
During the operation, RNP partners with the ministries of Justice and Local Government and Social Affairs so that all the complaints received by the Police Mobile Station Vehicle receive adequate attention.
Police remains with complaints that are within its mandate to investigate, while the rest are channeled to relevant institutions such as the judiciary and local leaders.
Other notable services provided include educating residents on matters pertaining to their rights and freedoms and where to report particular complaints.
