APR vs INATEK (Amahoro)

Champions APR will host Ngoma-based Inatek this evening at Amahoro indoor stadium knowing that a win will take them to the second position in the league.

However Inatek, who are still smarting from losing to Rayon Sports recently are keen to avoid two successive defeats to their title challengers, according to Coach Dominique Ntawangundi.

"It is not easy playing your title challengers in successive games but this is not an excuse because we have to beat our challengers in order to win the league,” Inatek Coach Ntawangundi said adding that his players know the value of a win against a team like APR.

APR coach Sammy Mulinge said, "The league is so tight, everyone wants to win and the gap between the teams is narrowing but we want to get points today and see if we can finish in a better position in the first half of the league so that we can build on that for the second half,” Mulinge said.

The first half of the national volleyball league ends today with the second half due to start after the Genocide commemoration week.

Meanwhile, the National Volleyball Federation will now schedule big games to be played in evening hours in a bid to attract more fans.

Rayon Sports leads the league table with 17 points, two points ahead of INATEK and three ahead of defending champions APR.
