Popular Roman Catholic Church choir, Christus Regnant, is set for a mega concert slated for November 19, at Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village (former Camp Kigali).
The choir best known for its beautiful unique symphonies was founded in 2006, by Christians at the Remera-based Centre Christus who wanted nice music during church services. Their concert last took place before the Covid-19 pandemic.
They will headline the concert alongside traditional gospel singer Josh Ishimwe.
Talking to The New Times, Jeremie Bizimana, the choir’s vice-president said that this year’s theme ‘I Bweranganzo’ will be like a hub of talent packed with good music from musicians, the band and traditional music, all brought together in one concert.
"We are still growing. Music generally does not have a language and so the concert will include different languages for everyone to feel included and have a good time. We plan to make the concert into a festival in the future,” Jeremie Bizimana, Choir vice-president.
Christus Regnant is translated to ‘Christ reigns’. The choir has around 100 active members from all age groups and is well known for positive and faith-based songs.
Some of their songs include ‘Igipimo cy’urukundo’, ‘Abatoya Ntibagapfe’, ‘Kuzwa Iteka’ and ‘Mama Shenge’, collaboration with Yverry and Andy Bumuntu.
Early bird tickets for the concert come in different tiers with regular tickets priced at RWF 5,000, VIP tickets available for 10,000 RWF and a table of 6 people for RWF 150,000. Gates will open at 4pm.
