University of Rwanda’s College of Arts and Social Sciences (UR-CASS) basketball club will be hoping to get their second win of the season when they take on University of Rwanda’s College of Education (UR- CoE) this afternoon in Huye district.

Huye-based UR-CASS have played seven matches this season but won just once against Rusizi and have lost all the other six games.

In an interview with this paper, UR-CASS coach Charles Mushumba admitted his side has not been doing well so far but said they’re doing everything possible to get better and, hopefully, the recovery journey will start with a victory over UR- CoE.

Mushumba also blamed the National Basketball Association (Ferwaba) for scheduling all their first 6 matches away, adding that the only match they played at home was against Rusizi.

Elsewhere today, 30- Plus will be up against former champions APR at Kacyiru courts while IPRC- South take on IPRC- Kigali in Huye District.

On Sunday, Rusizi host United Generation Basketball (UGB) club at 9am, Cercle Sportif de Kigali (CSK), champions Espoir square-off at CSK courts in Rugunga, IPRC-South entertain league newcomers Patriots, while IPRC- Kigali play struggling UR-CoE at NPC gymnasium at 2pm.

Espoir, CSK and UGB jointly lead the standings with 13 points each, one point ahead fourth-placed APR and two ahead of 5th-placed IPRC-Kigali. UR-CASS are 10th in the 11-team table with 8 points.
