Utexrwa Cup

Indorwa 134/10

Right Guards 135/6

Right Guards win by four wickets

Emma Byiringiro stirred Right Guards to their first win this year after a man of the match performance over Indorwa on Sunday at Kicukiro oval.

Byiringiro picked three wickets in the first innings and then rounded off that show with an unbeaten half century to guide his club to a four-wicket victory.

Chasing 134runs, Byiringiro who was batting at number four arrived at the crease at a bad time.

The club was 35 for 3 but with some rational batting, he steadied the ship for Right Guards after receiving good support from the captain Henry Zzizinga (27) and Dennis Mukama (21).

It was a very important win for Right Guards as Zzizinga later said, "It was very vital for us to win today because we worked tirelessly for it. We should now carry on from here in the remaining games”.

After Sunday’s win, Right Guards picked up four points to move into second spot alongside Kigali Cricket Club. Young Tigers are still at the helm with five points.

Right Guards will now play defending champions Challengers in their next game.
