Midfielder Heritier Luvumbu scored his first hat trick for Rayon Sports who returned to winning ways in the Primus National League with a convincing 3-0 victory over Sunrise FC at Kigali Pelé Stadium on Saturday.
The Blues put their shock 1-0 defeat against Musanze behind to register an important result that brought them back on the right track but the main highlight of the day would belong to Luvumbu who became the first player to net a hat trick in the league this season.

The Congolese import scored opened the goal scoring extravaganza in the 25th minute before doubling the lead for the home side from the sport before half time.
Sunrise FC created several chances that could have brought them back into the game but the likes of Robert Mukoghotya, and Yafesi Mubiru couldn’t capitalize them until Luvumbu came to the party again to score third goal in the injury time to secure three points for the home side in style.
The result put Sunrise head coach Hassan Muhire’s job on line as he continues to struggle for results, having managed just six points after seven league games.
Meanwhile, the win brought Mohamed Wade’s Blues back in positive mood having lost to Musanze FC last weekend.
Rayon are now fifth on table with 12 points, five points behind table leaders Musanze who were held to a 1-1 draw by Muhazi United in Ngoma.
Elsewhere, Mukura VS traveled to Nyamata to beat Bugesera FC 2-1 while Marines FC lost to resilient Gasogi United 1-0.
