Rwanda will be represented by three professional golfers in the forthcoming Kabale Open Golf Championship that tees off at the par 72 Kabale golf course on April 3.
The trio, who include; Jean Baptiste Hakizimana, Emmanuel Ruterana and Ernest Ndayisenga depart for Kabale on April 1 and return five days later.
Hakizimana told this paper on Tuesday that apart from vying for glory and the cash prize, the competition is also a good training platform ahead of the Kenya Open scheduled for April 9-12 at Karen Country Club in Nairobi.
"I’m prepared for Kabale tournament; I will do everything possible to bring the title back home.
The competition is also a nice platform for me ahead of the Barclays Kenya Open. In Kabale, I will be able to know what to do and what to expect in Nairobi,” Hakizimana said.
From Barclays Kenya Open Golf championship, the trio will head to Bujumbura for Burundi open slated for May 29.
Last year, Emmanuel Ruterana finished fifth at the Kabale Open while Hakizimana didn’t participate in the 3-day tournament that he won in 2013.
