Govt holds key to compensation of survivors who lost property

The Government has the obligation to protect its citizens and their properties and so when it fails it should be held accountable — it does not matter who was in power then.

In short, these people should be paid by the Treasury the same way we are paying for the loans of weapons that were used to kill our people. These guys were not ordinary criminals; they were organised by the Government then to do what they did.

Let us pay survivors whose property was looted or destroyed and then follow up with the looters or the killers, whatever we may call them.
