Last year’s first runners-up Rayon Sports volleyball club beat archrivals and defending champions APR three sets to one in the national volleyball league on Sunday at NPC gymnasium.
Rayon Sports won the first set narrowly (25-23) in a game that was tense with both sets of fans urging their teams on.
However, this was not to be APR’s day as the blues confortably the second set 25-17. However,APR rallied in the third set, easily winning it 25-14.
But Fidele Nyirimana’s side showed no mercy in the fourth and final set, winning it 25-18.
Elsewhere, last year’s second runners-up Inatek beat Kigali Volleyball Club 3-0 on Saturday.
By press time last evening, Kirehe were still playing visitors Lycee de Nyanza.
In women’s league, reigning champions Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) thrashed Ruhango 3-0 while APR saw off new entrants IPRC- Kigali three sets to nil.
