Kamonyi thumped struggling Academic Girls 13-1 in match day 10 of the national women’s league on Saturday.

Striker Florence Imanizabayo was in top form scoring seven goals. Dorothea Mukeshimana, Agape Irikumutima and Calixte Iradukunda added a brace each in a game that pretty much looked a training session for Kamonyi.Kamonyi FC head coach Emmanuel Habiyambere told Times Sport in a telephone interview that they had prepared for the match very well.

"Well done to my players, I was impressed by their play on Saturday, especially Imanizabayo. We had prepared for the tie very well. We only need to keep this form and win consistently, no time to relax,” Habiyambere told this paper.

Elsewhere, Rambura beat Bugesera 2-1, Golden Generation lost 2-1 to Nyagatare, Inyemera were held 1-1 by Freedom while Les Lioness beat Atletico 1-0 survival.

League leaders AS Kigali have 27 points, three ahead of hopefuls Les Lioness while Kamonyi are third with 21 points.
