Rwanda’s rising golfer Thierry Ntaganda is looking to rewrite history when he competes in the second last edition of the prestigious 2006/7 BCR lease and go monthly mug golf competition today at Kigali Golf Club.

Ntaganda who only rose to fame in April already boasts of a hat-trick of mugs making him only the second golfer in the history of the competition after Emmanuel Ruterana who set the record last year.

The youngster started his impressive run in June and has since claimed back to back honours in July and August. With a credible show from Ntaganda during last Saturday’s Hema and Gisorora golf tournament, only the sky is the limit for the 15-year-old who is chasing for his fourth successive mug honours.

Rwanda’s top amateur golfer Jean Baptiste Hakizimana who has been struggling for form has promised to much Ntaganda.
The 18-year-old who has three mug honors onto his name has struggled since upgrading to Handicap +2.

"It’s not easy to challenge the likes of Ntaganda when you have a handicap like mine but I’m going to give it a fresh go this Saturday,” a determined Hakizimana said. Tee-off is at 8am and stroke play is the mode of play.
