Dear editor,

Fifa has announced that Ethiopia have been kicked out of the qualifying campaign for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. The Bureau of the Organising Committee took the decision for the FIFA World Cup.

The Ethiopian Foot ball Federation problems began in January, when its general assembly fired the federation’s president Dr Ashebir Woldergiorgis and elected Ahmed Yasin to replace him.

FIFA rules and regulations are clear and I do not see why anybody should try to infringe them. It is a big shame for a country like Ethiopia whose athletes are flourishing on the international scene, to be banned for such unwanted indulgences.

Finally, it will be the soccer lovers to suffer as no more hopes are left for their country to feature in the 2010 world cup in South Africa. Let us live in a more responsible way and let autonomy go where it is meant, that is all.
