Team Rwanda rider Emile Bintunimana has held onto third position in the general classification ahead of today’s final stage 8 from Pouma to Yaoundé, a total distance of140km at the ongoing Tour du Cameroon.

Team Rwanda rider Emile Bintunimana has held onto third position in the general classification ahead of today’s final stage 8 from Pouma to Yaoundé, a total distance of140km at the ongoing Tour du Cameroon.
The 23 year old, who won stage 2 from Bafia to Bangangté, came second at stage 3 in Baffoussam before finishing fifth at both stages 4 and 5 from Bafang to Mbanga and from Bonaberie to Limbé respectively.
Bintunimana cam 11th in yesterday’s race from Doula to Kribi posting 3:59:40 and has amassed 22:37:41, 1:07 on the general classification behind Cameroonian Clovis Kamzong who has held onto the yellow jersey since day one.
Teammates Abraham Ruhumuriza and Nathan Byukusenge are sixth and ninth on the general classification respectively while Patrick Byukusenge and Hakuzimana are 15th and 22nd in that order.
Meanwhile, Team Rwanda competing in the Grand Tour d’Algerie Algeria will today turn their focus to the Tour International d’Annaba with stage 1 starting from Annaba to Berrahal, a total distance of130.5km.
The reigning Tour du Rwanda winner Valens Ndayisenga was diagnosed with bacterial infection while teammate Joseph Biziyaremye too is sick. However, both are expected to recover in time for the Tour International de Constantine which commences on March 25.
