Les Lionnes FC will be looking to bounce back from last Sunday’s 4-1 defeat to AS Kigali when they face neighbours Atletico this afternoon in the national women football league.

Huye-based Les Lionnes’ humiliation at hands of mighty six-time reigning champions was their first loss this season and head coach Innocent Harerimana told Saturday Sport yesterday that today’s match is a Do-or-Die clash.

"We learnt our lesson from Sunday’s defeat; we need to be more determined, focused and optimistic this time round. Atletico are a good side, they have been really doing well this season. We prepared accordingly and I’m confident we will overcome them,” Harerimana said.

Elsewhere, last year’s first runners-up, Kamonyi FC host Academic Girls at GS Remera-Rukoma playgrounds, Inyemera will be up against Freedom FC of Gakenke district, Nyagatare will play away to Golden Generation while Rambura entertain struggling Bugesera in Nyabihu district.

On Sunday, there will be one fixture; defending champions AS Kigali take on Muhanga-based Youvia at Kabagari grounds.

As it stands, giants AS Kigali lead the league log with 27 points; Les Lionnes trail them by 7 points in the second place while Atletico are third with 19 points.
